If you would like to reduce the risk of damage from natural disasters, then
you should choose Nagahama.
Japan is a country with much damage from earthquakes and typhoons. The probability
of earthquakes greater than magnitude 8 hitting the South-central area of Japan
along the coast of Pacific Ocean is forecasted at 20% within 10 years, which jumps
up to 60% within 30 years.
Do you know the word "Typhoon Ginza"? A number of typhoons hit Japan
from summer to fall, causing heavy damage. The southern part of Japan is thought
to be a thoroughfare for typhoons, and is called "Typhoon Ginza," a
name taken from the most famous and busy downtown area in Tokyo, Japan.
The northern part of Japan is covered with snow up to the roofs of houses during
winter time. Of course such heavy snow interferes with transportation.
Nagahama, located in the inland area, has not experienced any heavy damage from
earthquakes in the past 100 years, and many typhoons hitting Japan have lost much
of their power by the time they reach Nagahama, if they reach here at all. We
do have snow, but not so much that paralyzes the city transportation system.
Many of Japanese enterprises that have recently established their factories in
Nagahama state that their main reason for selecting Nagahama was the low occurrence
of natural disasters. In addition, the crime rate is below national average (crime
rate in Shiga Prefecture is 2 cases per 100 people, while national average is
2.6 cases (Data from 2005)).
Would you choose anywhere but here for your business? |
